Canada is one of a few developed countries able to offer you permanent residency status even before you set foot in the country. Most other countries will only consider offering you permanent residency status if you have lived in that country for a long time, ranging from 5 to 10 years. You can come to Canada already granted PR status without having ever lived in the country.
Each year Canada accepts about a quarter of a million new permanent residents. For people with skills, work experience and a good standard of English or French , qualifying for residency is not a huge barrier. You can use free online calculators to find out if you qualify for PR status.
